Shoji - Perfect Form & Function - We Define Creative Interiors

The last section of our gallery is devoted to showing you our tools of the trade and how our
bespoke screens are traditionally crafted to perfection for our clients.

A draft of a shoji screen meticulously drawn to scale as the guide to the finished screen.

This is Michael, our draughtsman and master shoji craftsman's vintage drawing board, with a drawing of a set of shoji designed for a client.  We always design the shoji on paper, to scale. Our client always receives a copy for approval prior to beginning the actual production of the shoji.

This drawing, once it is approved by our client, is then used to build the shoji. Michael's drawings are very attractive, and meticulous - he takes great care with them, as this is the beginning of his traditionally handcrafted shoji. Michael views every project he undertakes as a personal 'work of art,' and he takes great pride in all of his finished pieces.
